The first Siberian Huskies were brought over to Alaska in 1909 to Race in the All Alaska Sweepstakes Race. In that year more Siberian Huskies were brought over by Charles Fox Maule Ramsey. They were driven by John "Iron Man" Johnson and won the race. They kept winning with Leonhard Seppala and after the "serum run" went on tour in the United States. They were asked to race in New England and won over the the USA. They were granted AKC recognition in 1930 some went on expedition with Admiral Byrd and served in Alaska in WWII. They are #24 on the Most Popular Dog Breeds List of 2023.
